Coundon Court School and Technology College Performing Arts Buildings Coventry

Coundon Court is a successful secondary school and technology college to the North West of Coventry.

It is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty.

The Team was appointed to realizes the need for a dedicated Sixth Form Centre and a Performing Arts Centre.

Site constraints identified only two areas for the possible development.

The Performing Arts Centre was sited in an area which was originally a playground.

The Sixth Form Centre occupies the site of the existing Post 16 Centre adjacent to the neglected pond.

This has now been brought back to use.

Both building consisted of a braced steelwork structure with a mixture of masonry render and Cedar timber cladding.

The Sixth Form Centre has a café area on the ground floor with external timber decking that extends over the refurbished lake.

Stoke Park School

This new Sixth Form Centre situated over two levels was designed as a braced steel structure having composite upper floors.

This continues our relationship with Coventry City Council over the past decade.

The building is naturally lit and ventilated providing the school with a comfortable and healthy, low energy working environment.

The majority of the heating is supplied by the ground source heat pump.
