Collinshallgreen are made up of three Directors. Simon Collins, J David Hall and Robert Green.

Simon graduated with an honours degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Leeds. Joining a local consultant in 1991 Simon progressed to Director Level before joining the practice in 2005 as Director.
Simon's experience covers a wide range of schemes from Commercial, Industrial, Retail and Residential to Educational and Hospital schemes. He has built close relationships with Contractors, Architects and Clients alike generating repeat work. Recent portfolio projects which Simon is developing include the landmark InSpire project in Nottingham for our client Christian Centre. The church and conference facility which has seats for 1800 people also incorporates a 5 storey basement car park and a 60m tall spire.
From our Sheffield office we are about to commence work on site for a new mixed use scheme in Milton Street. Bridging two plots including a contiguous piled basement car park, rc concrete superstructure over with retail, office and residential use to the top floors. The green roof and central atrium all adding to this substantial project in the heart of Sheffield. With development increasingly being sited on Brownfield sites, careful consideration of contamination liabilities, ground improvement requirements and highway and drainage solutions are all areas where Simon has worked with local authorities, specialist remediation consultants and the Environment Agency to develop schemes which minimise programme and budgetary overheads to enable a development to become economically viable. In 1997 Simon became a Chartered Structural Engineer and in 1998 also became a member of the Association of Planning Supervisors (now the Association for Project Safety).
Simon also holds a NEBOSH certificate in general Health and Safety. Socially, Simon is a keen musician and enjoys walking.
J. David Hall
I.Eng., A.M.I. Struct. E., M.I.C.E.
David has worked at the practice since January 1983 and was made an Associate in l994.While obtaining his H.N.C. in Civil Engineering at Trent Polytechnic, Nottingham, he worked for the Nottingham civil engineering consultant, after which he joined the local office of a national firm of structural consultants.
David has a wide range of experience in the design and detailing of all types of building design and construction.
He has been Project and Design Engineer on a large number of projects whether new or refurbishments. These include the new Moat House School for Coventry City Council, a sixth form centre for a Nottinghamshire County Council school and Radcliffe Road Stand at Trent Bridge for Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club.
David has had a particular involvement in education projects and in the leisure industry working as Project Engineer on numerous developments throughout the U.K.

Robert is a graduate of the UK’’s Bradford University, obtaining an honours degree. He has worked in the East Midlands since 1979, starting his career with Kenchington Little & Partners.
After joining Jackson & Peplow as Senior Engineer in 1985 he helped the Nottingham office to grow in size. He became a Director of the practice in 1987 and since then has worked on several interesting projects, including the new spectator stands Trent Bridge for Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club and Stapleford Park Hotel in Leicestershire. More recently he has been involved in the civil engineering and project management of major industrial projects for BAE Systems.
His experience has been enhanced by work of an interesting and varied nature for the worlds largest ever oil company consortium on projects in Baku, Azerbaijan and Tblisi in Georgia. The work involves frequent visits to Baku and Tblisi with backup provided as necessary in the UK.
Robert is a Chartered Engineer, being a Fellow of the Institution of Structural Engineers and Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers. He is a Past Chairman of the East Midlands Branch of the Institution of Structural Engineers.
